Ben, now Doug, was foster number 8. A cute boy from Florida, who was stolen from his litter as a pup, and then abandoned a year later. He didn’t have a lot of baggage and fit right into my home. He was unsure of people but got long great with my pack. If you don’t recall Ben, you can learn more about him in my older posts about him.

I am so blessed his mom is still in touch with me, and I’m getting to see the amazing life he’s leading.
Doug’s mom refers to him as her heart dog, she has often sent me messages just to tell me how much she loves him. She and Doug have also fostered together and now they have a wonderful pack of 5 dogs, with Doug leading the way.
They have relocated to Nova Scotia and in March I got this wonderful message:
“Hey! I recently purchased 5.3 acres of forested land, between mountains and ocean in Nova Scotia. I purchased it under a Holding Company, which I have affectionately named “Douglas Fur Adventures Ltd.” after my OG adventure buddy.
I’ll be building a camp style recreational/dog-safe fun area where Doug and his pack can spend weekends frolicking in the forest with their mum and other friends.”
How awesome is that?!!

And just this week she messaged she took Doug and his 4 siblings for portraits to be taken, and he was his usual goofy self for the camera. And like his foster sister, Dahlia, Doug dances for food too! He gets up on his hind legs and boogies down! He even did it for the photoshoot, for cheese of course!
Sweet Doug is living his best life and it makes my heart so happy to see the adventures he is living with his mom and other adopted siblings!
I thank his mom for keeping in touch with me, all these years later, it really means so much to me.
